I am looking at installing two 12" subs inverted. From what I have read there will not be a noticeable difference in sound but that is not what I am looking for at this point. It is about looks for these two. I already have other subs installed in the regular fashion. What I want to do is invert both of these subs in the trunk. Questions...Do I need to make a larger inclosure?, should each sub have its own inclosure? Do I need to reverse the polarity? (confused over what I read on that one) and what is the best way to face them? Any help greatly appreciated.
as long as you have the room when the subs are inverted you can use the same enclosure, there is no sound difference except maybe sound coming through the pole piece on the magnet and if both subs are inverted you can hook both subs up normal, it's only if 1 sub is inverted would you have to reverse the polarity

you can actually make the enclosure slighly smaller too, since now you dont have to factor the volume that the sub would take away from the total volume inside the enclosure.

From what I've read, the polarity only matters if you have some subs normal, and some inverted. When they're all wired the same, you get cancellation.
Since you're going to invert both your subs, there is no need to change the wiring. you can use the same box, I did as an experiment, and I found it sounded better regular.
I think that they do need to switch the wiring if they are inverted(or if the deck is able to make the change for you it would not make a difference, I think he has other subs the normal way, so I think they do have to be done in the opposite way or it would cancel some of th base out.
I think, I am far far from an expert.
I was playing with my deck and I switched the sub output for an inverted sub and it was sounding very bad, because it was not pounding at the right time, very odd
if one sub is inverted and one sub is not. then the wiring for the inverted sub should be reversed. if both subs are inverted then you can leave the wiring the same. same goes for any multiples. if 9 subs are inverted and 22 subs are not. the wiring for the 9 subs needs to be switched. if 33 subs are inverted and 0 subs are not. then wiring is all the same.
now once that is complete, you can flip the wiring on all the subs and have a listen, if it sounds better go with it, if it doesnt put it back the way it was. in car audio. + to + and - to - doesnt always mean your getting the best sound.

oh, good to know, so I was way off!

OMG finally some one else realizes that... not too many people agree with that, but its a very easy way to get better sound quality, performance, and imaging.

That is why alot of high end headunits have phase for indepentant mid and tweeter when running active.
