Well, if you read my other post about a HU, this one kind of goes along with it. In desperation to hear my subs pound, I hooked up the amp and didn't bolt it down for a day. Sure enough, I get in a small accident, and the amp come off the floor and plows into my JL 12w6v2 sub and puts a nice hole in it. I didn't buy the sub from an authorized JL dealer, although this wouldn't be covered under warranty anyway. But will JL put a new cone in it for me even if I didn't buy it from an authorized retail store? And does anyone know about how much it would cost? I suppose I could always call them. Just thought I'd post here first and see if anyone has an idea.

Most manufactures will recone it, but you will have to pay...sometimes alot. Best bet it to call them or check their site.
Im sure you can get it repaired, theyll charge you, itd be stupid not to take the money....
but if its too much and you dont mind a ghetto repair, ive used JB Weld on 2 subs (using them untill i get a box for moving my 15"s to my cav) and it holds. the speakers sound a bit different if youre in the trunk next to them, but in the cabin it sounds the same. Those were 12" type-r's tho, and im getting rid of them soo, i was just desperate for bass! haha
good luck!
As long as the sub has the serial # on the frame they will repair it. Usually after shipping it is about 1/2 the cost of new.
Take it to a JL dealer to ship it out.

Thanks guys for the input. I contacted one of the local shops around here and they figured it would be $150-$200 to fix. Expensive, but still cheaper than a new sub. Oh well. Maybe I'll see how some epoxy works for now. If that doesn't hold up, I'll get it re-coned.
