A few questions....
Friday, August 03, 2007 5:30 AM
now that im starting to work on the cav again, after 3 months, i decided i wanted to get a new battery. last night i got a free optima red top given to me. so heres a few ideas and i need some opinions and direction

i want to put my battery in the trunk, im not sure wether i want to use the optima redtop or buy a marine battery from walmart. marine batteries are deepcycle. also do they make a battery box for marine batteries? and how hard and what is involved with relocating the new battery to the trunk?

thanks all

not much more then securing the battery down and then running a wire up front. same as if u were running a wire from the front to the back. im sure they make a box for it since ive seen them in boats before.

well you allready have the redtop. why buy another one. only thing im not sure on is fumes. if its not a gell cell you probalby need to vent it to the exterior. wich would be easy, just mount the bat on the passenger side and run some tubing from the battery tray out the cars vent there in the corner.

now if your someone who keeps running the battery down by having your system play for hours on end, then the redtop may not be best for you.
