the other night the lady and i headed out to shore long story short she lost my keys along with remote entry. I keep spares so thats no biggie however GM today said for me to get a new remote entry it would cost 130 for the parts and 30 for the programming, is there anyway i can cut costs and go this myself? i have a 2000 Sunfire SE 4 door auto. decent i wonder why they told me i needed a whole new transmitter and everything then... probably just looking for more money, so i can just buy a remote anywheres like a junkyard and have it programmed?

thats nuts, ill have to call another dealer mine wont do it if i bring them the parts... can any garage do this or does it have to be GM?
buy off e-bay for 15 bucks... then if you don't want to pay the programing costs.. i know some locksmiths can program them... and they only charge a small fee (since they do it infront of you and cannot get away with charging for a full hour labour)
well the cops found my keys and since i had a membership card on it they were able to identify them as mine, however the remote was run over repeatedly lol... so thanks for the help, hopefully i can get a new one programmed relatively hassle free Thanks again
