When I start the engine my factory CD/MP3 player resets back to 12:00 and loses all presets. It only does this like every other time I start the engine. I can also hear a crackle from the speakers when it does this.
Any idea on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.
sounds like some where u have maybe a loose ground or power, not 100% sure but thats not a good sign, id get that cd player out and check all the connections and make sure a wire hasn't rubbed too much on a metal surface...... or it could be internal and u need to junk it
It looks to me like the factory unit has 2 ground wires both ending down by the passenger front seat on or near the frame rail. Thats where I'd start. Have you done anything inside the car recently ?
This has been happening with my aftermarket headunit too. It drives me crazy! I've checked the wiring harness and it's just fine.
