No DRL's or passenger headlight
Tuesday, September 04, 2007 8:30 AM
Hi guys, hopefully you can help me. I went on vacation and the car sat for 9 days. Came home, was about to go to the store, started fine and ran fine. Took off the parking brake and the DRL indicator flashed about 8 times and you could here the relay clicking the same amount of times. I have no DRL's, the drivers side high and low work great and the passenger side is dim like a flashlight that is about to die. Any help would be appreciated.

already changed the bulbs and the problem still exists. I'm thinking its a bad ground coming of the relay, or just something in the wiring. Just looking for possible solutions before I have to spend a lot of money.

Most likely, you have a corroded splice in the forward lamp harness. Usually, the splices that cause the most problems are in the harness near the washer bottle and 6 to 10 along the bumper bar from the left headlight. Can't remember which splice is where off the top of my head, but if you untape the harness, you'll probably find your problem.

I've seen this a few times. I also think it's in that splice. Looking at the wiring diagram it should be a dark blue wire. What I've seen happen is it gets cut somewhere along where it runs below the radiator or where it splices gets corroded. Just start at the right bulb and trace backwards.
