you will need a power inverter to make the house electrical go to 12V. then you can make a custom box set up to mount your CD player, and what nots. I wouldnt run anthing bigger than a 300w amp if you do a car sub in your house. I thought about doing this at one point with an old CD player. I wanted to mount it right under the TV on the entertainment center. and have it as my receiver.

I have 6 12" subs and 2 7" subs + the regular sub on my home stereo now.. its 2 receivers, 3 amps.. a switch box.. theres 15 speakers, and 9 subs... its decent.. i tried before to take all the subs off the sub channel of the receivers, but i couldnt turn it up too much cause it pulled to many ohms out of the channel, and would shut the receivers off, but all the amps have 12 volt regulators on them, sometimes i turn it up to give it a little more juice when i turn it up, but not much.. it pulls alot on the house, and throws breakers like crazy with air conditioners and all running.. but it sounds good lol.. the amps im using are - rockford fosgate punch 100.2 bridged, pioneer 100 watt bridged, and a lightning audio 425 watt i beleive or 450ish..
