My cavalier install (Polk, Alpine, Elemental Designs)

Ok so with me selling the Mustang the beater needs a system till I get another toy. Went out looking at new toys this weekend I shouldnt be spending money on so who knows how long this install will last.

Equpiment:
Alpine CDA-9831
David Navone IPOD cable
Polk DB6500 Component speakers
Rear is nothing as of now I may run coaxials in the back though
Polk C400.4 4 Channel
Elemental Designs Nine1 on Substage
13AV :-)

What a ballin ride

CDA-9831 - I love this radio

Polks in the front doors, biggest PIA ever, 1/2 mdf baffles. Why would you ever put a 4x6 in the doors, only GM I sware to god and depth is tight, luckily these guys are shallow speakers. I just left the stock wire I didnt even wanna attempt to pull new wiring through, by this point in the nite.

Amps on the back seat. Polk C400.4 and Elemental Designs Nine.1 both beasts of amps

The mother of all, the 13AV, bad picture I know, but hell its only a prototype I cant wait for the official release version.

Onto my little review. With no deadener the speakers actually sound decent in the doors but eventually they will get deadner. Did part of the big 3, still have to do the alternator positive run, but all the grounding has been done, and it helped alot but its still hurting. I was thrilled I was able to fit the Polk 6.5 components in the doors that I already had, bye bye 4x6's thank god.

This sub is the mother of all. Had a W7 a few years back and this blows it away. Its in 1.3 cubes sealed and getting 1200watts RMS and it just blows me away. The lows are just unbelievable it just keeps going lower and lower and it pounds with serious authority.

To anyone on the board about doing the Big3 and if its worth it or not, I have only done the 2 grounds and it helped a ton, the positive lead will get done this weekend as I still have some light dimming, but was unable to find a gm sidepost battery terminal adapter to get it done over the past weekend.

For those of you who care.

greg has one of our prototype 13av.2s and is doing some testing for us.

One of a handful out to the public at this time.

When you going to move into a vented enclosure for some serious fun.

We have sold quite a few, but I dont think you will find a whole lot of jbody owners running one.

Greg is actually contemplating using the nine.5 in the cavalier last I heard.

He also got one for a corvette install he is doing.

Ive wanted to do one, but will only do it if I go active

ps....sub channel does more like 800 watts.

Alex,

That is good info to know on th nine.5. Unfortuantely my sub is a dual 4 ohm, so the best I can do is 2 ohm mono not 1ohm.......unless I sell it for a dual 2 ohm
