asking tuning advice

I have read the sticky and understand how to tune the sub to the certain rms. My question lies in what do you recomend as rms for this speaker. I have a ported box and running an infintiy 610a mono amp rated at 456rms 4ohm, the sub i am temporarly using )as it was given to me till i can afford a new replacement for my infinity that shorted out) is a rockford fosgate punch p112s8 rated at 150rms 8 ohms. I figured on tuning at the 150 8 ohm (35vlt ac) and well it hits so soft its not funny. I used the test tone from the sticky but was wondering if it would be ok to use a steady 45h test tone for tuning as this is around were the sub and box are designed to work. I used to tune by ear but really wanted to tune this way this time around.
thanks all for your help

i always tune by ear. adjust it till its loud without distorting and call it a day. and tune it with a musical cd. not a bass or rap cd.

thanks sndsgood, i dont listen to rap at all, all the music thats going to be played is classic, modern and industrial rock, country, and ocasianal techno. I may go back to by ear tune. the main reason im trying this is i had ear tuned my last sub. That was an infinity kappa, it blew a voice coil. I mean filled the car with smoke when it went bad. I had been using it for 4 months no adj on it before it blew. Then I was told by infinity it most of been clipping and thats why the voice coil failed. Faild so bad i couldnt move the speaker cone at all took months to air out the car from that smell.

sounds like an easy way out for them to claim clipping, though the majority of speakers they get back are most likely blown because of it, as long as your ears are good enough to hear distortion you shouldn't have a problem. though i guess there are people out there who do hear distortion and keep turning it up lol
