sooo uh been perusing my service manual. found the pins on teh bcm that disable ETS. could be usefull for all you cav owners that have to pull the ebrake to disable it.

3rd connector top row with connector facing you 9th pin from the left...ground that it should do it....someone care to give it a shot?

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

Id think that it would work. My buddy has a grand prix (the year after they took away, "performance shift") and a simple PCM ground gets it back.

Seeing as how other than some metal and looks, the cars are the same, I think this would work.

Im sure its cake to find a junked 'fire to get the button setup out of as well, as I'd want the setup to be stock looking.

Good luck with whoever is going to try this.

i have noticed that aswell and even some of the older grand ams and such have it on a switch.

i dont mind pulling my ebrake up a notch, not a big pita or anything, but having it on a switch would be nice...

I actually like the DRL's and pulling up a notch turns them off, so i might get into looking more next time at the yard, or if some one has a service manual from GM and dont mind sending me the wiring schematics. I might can figure it out.

KenZ24 and I tried this way back in 2000... when my first Cav was new. It doesn't work. The Cavalier BCM is programmed differently than the Sunfire BCM... so even though you add the wire, it's not programmed for it.

You'd have to swap in a Sunfire BCM... and get the radio and keyfobs reprogrammed, and live with the changed mileage on the cluster after you swap it... for it to work.

My 99 sunfire has it on switch, but when i pulled the old shift knob off the other day to change it i took out the switch and it looks as if it has been put in after purchase, mainly because who-over cut out the hole on the stock shift nob for the ETS did a bad job. But i have no idea where its wired up to. I've just changed the shift knob to an after market one so installed a new toggle switch for it so i can again just switch it on and off. But i might take a look and see if i can find where it is wired to if that helps at all.?
