random illumination on head unit
Wednesday, January 02, 2008 11:43 AM
so i just got my head unit (Premier-690UB) all wired up with the scocshe class 2 adapter gm09 and the face of the unit will go from lit on unlit, to unlit on lit. i figured the illumination wire had a bad connection, so i unpluged it. but its still doing it. and it bugs the hell out of me cause i see a flash of blue and i look in my mirror for a cop. on the scosche unit the wire was light orange with a white stripe on the head unit it was solid orange. but these were the only unused wires.

any ideas as to whats causing this?

it just lites up bright then goes to unbright right, it still says the stuff on the screen right? cause if it still does all that then there is nothing wrong with the wiring or the unit cause thats just how it is. well thats how it is with mine and my friends pioneer. if it really bugs you just flip the face down and you wont see it any more. that what i do.

My old Pioneer did that also. It had the OEL screen on it. It changed like every 10 seconds.

Yep... I forget that there is a setting on the unit, but I think you have to put the illum into the harness or something. I forget...

idk. im still trying to set the clock on the damn thing. lol when the illumination was plugged in nothing was different but ive got both wires extended to my fuse box so i can either connect them together or plug the HU into a fuse. what would be a good fuse to tap into? at least it sounds great.
