I have a 2000 cav that had no radio in it when i bought it. It also had hack job wireing to where the stereo would be. So i went to the boneyard and got a factory harness and stereo. Went to United radio and had the vin cleard out of the radio. I butt connected the harness back into the car and installed the radio. The problem is that i am getting no sound from all of the speakers. The headunit it working properly but still no sound or door chime when my doors are open. This problem has really got me stumped. Any help would be apprated. Thanks!

Chances are there are no speakers left in the vehicle. If the had an aftermarket deck, prob had aftermarket speakers too.

Nah i checked all the speekers. They are all still there.

try pulling the radio back out and hooking up a speaker (that you know works) right off of the speaker wires coming out of the radio... that'll tell you if it's in your radio or something else( wires to speakers or speakers)...

Ok i hooked up a small speaker to each channel of the radio and all channels work. I also checked the speekers in the rear deck and doors with a small radio i have and the speakers in the car are all good. Does it run threw the BCM maybe or a factory amp?

if the speakers in your rear deck have foutr wires going to each of them then you have the monsoon amp, but from what your saying, it sonds like a loos connection where you had to reattach the factory harness.

I dont have the monsoon becouse i only have two wires to each rear speaker. So i should go back threw and check all my connections at the hu plug then?

Does any1 know what wires do what on the factory plug?

I re-crimped all the wires and still nothing. Any other ideas?

I would start tracing the speaker wires. Chances are that the previous owner might have had an amp in the car, and cut into the factory wires instead of running new wires to the speakers. You've now checked everything else out from what I just read.

just run new wires and be done with it.
