ok i have the 35w HID plug & play kit on my 03 cavalier...if i were reenable the DRL and use the high beams to run the HIDs will this have an adverse affect on the ballast? after having disabled the DRL my car alarm will go off every 20 minutes. any help?

well to be more specific, the alarm will work perfectly fine when the DRL are enabled as normal. but i disabled then as shown in the sticky of this forum, and the HID kit works perfect. but after arming the security system after 20 minutes it goes off. if set back to active DRL i can arm the system w/o and issues., however will need to have HID system turned on when the car is not in park.

it seems to me whoever wired up your alarm did something wrong, (or perhaps differently than normal) i have a code alarm and my drls are disabled, no problems, the only thing i could think of that would cause this would be that your light flash circuit is connected to the drls instead of the parking lights, but other than that i couldn't tell you whats wrong without actually getting in the car. if you had the alarm profesionally installed take the car back and ask them how they wired it, if you did it yourself, check all your wires, make sure there connected where there supposed to be

unhook the Parking Light wire from the Alarm system, then see if your problem remains.
