I have been having problems with my battery going dead when the car sits. 2 weeks of not touching my car and I can be sure the battery is dead. At first I thought it was the battery going bad. However if has gone through 3 batteries all Optima red tops all with the same dead in under 2 weeks symtom. I no longer belive it is the battery as I charged it up fully and then left it out of the car for 2 weeks. It still reads 12.8 volts. I am still going to have the battery load tested but I have a feeling if the battery was going bad it would not have still read 12.8 volts after 2 weeks. So the something is drawing from the battery when the car is off. I have removed the power wire to the amp to make sure that was not it. I have checked all the litle things like making sure all lights shut off ect.
I do have a 2 way Astro Start brand remote starter and a Panasonic cd player. I have made sure that the cd player shuts off when the key is turned off and it does. The face is still on it so it does not have the blinking light from the cd player flashing either. So I have sort of ruled out the CD player.
This above mentioned remote start is what I am worried about. I do not have any blinking alrm lights or anything like that. What I am wondering is how much that draws.
How much is normal draw for it and does having an aftermarket cd player draw more than the stock? Obviosly the station and time memory the cd player uses draws some as well as the PCM.
I have a battery tender I am going to hook up but I want to make sure I do not have any other problems first. Thanks in advance.

Pull the fuse on the autostart see if that helps. I know your car shouldn't be pulling much... I can't remember the figure, but I'm sure if you went to a garage and got the car tested for a parasitic load or whatever, that would be a good place to start. Then start pulling fuses until the draw drops I suppose. Good luck.

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
Per the GM service manual, .01 - .02 amps when everything is off is optimal. With aftermarket stuff, probably .04 amps.
I had the same problem w/ my yellow, so ditched it for a standard wet cell.
