what to do with rear deck....

check it, i want to finally complete my system, i got infinity comps in the doors and STILL have the factory 6x9's in the deck. I was talking to one of my other installers and he suggested i get 6x9's instead of another set of comps like i originally was going to do. His logic being i would get more "mids" out of the 6x9 to complement my loud "highs" coming from the doors...we kinda argued about it for a lil while and now i want some opinions....what do you guys think? i also plan on getting a P3 or a Type R....need help choosing a box, i got some tools at my job so building a box is possible but i have never done it before. Any opinions are welcome!!

I would get a nice set of 3-way 6x9's for the rear deck and call it a day.

In my cavalier i prefer no rear fill, i enjoy the sound of a nice front stage. Anyway, i would do 6.5's and not 6x9's if you realy wana do rear fill.

Oh and i forgot to comment on the last part. I highly suggest you build your own box seeing you have the tools to do so. Also i would go with alpine over the p3's any day. I can design you a box if you wana build one, just shoot me max dimensions, what amp will be power the sub, what type of music you listen to and last whats your goal?

Like Corey said, Ditch the rear fill.

Put the money into a good amplifier for your front components instead.

thanks for he comments, i already have a decent amp for my comps...its the infinity 475a....pushes about 90-watts rms at 2 ohms. The comps i have are rated at like 2.5 ohms. Im gonna do the rear fill anyway and prolly go with the comps. I listen to a little of everything mostly hiphop/rap and reggeaton (yes i know....im a spic tho ) Im not to worried about the size of the box but i dont want a huge box either. I plan on getting an alpine mrp-m650 600 watts rms @ 2 ohms or and mrp-m850 800 watts rms @ 2 ohms...i just dont wanna blow the type r cuz i dont have the right box for it. I have heard too small of a box for that sub will cause it to blow....thanks guys!!

Its actualy more the other way around, to large of a box will limit power handling of the driver. Also there are better amps out there for the money then the Alpine, so if you havnt purchased an amp i would suggest maybe looking into something better. If your intrested in a box design lmk and ill get something drawn up.

i like no rear fill also, you can't really hear it with my subs anyway's......

look into fi, re audio, or dc soundlabs they have great product at a really good price.

for amps you can look into sundown audio, orion, or the rockford power line

the only reason im thinking about doing rear fill is cause of where i live, i would get kick pods but they are just to easy to steal....( i live in queens nyc)....but i would prefer to build my own box....right now i can get a P3 for 80 bucks+tax a type r for about 110+tax....Im kinda tight on money and i can get the alpine amps for cheap too which is why i wanna go with em.

Anything to save me money would be great which is why i wanna attempt to build my own box, to save money and get great sound.....ported or sealed im cool with it but i think you would get a cleaner sound from a sealed box im not really going for spl cuz i wont be competing its all for me and my enjoyment.

Anyway Corey if you dont mind i would greatly appreciate a box design if you got some spare time....i will definitely use some dynamat or something similar but any other suggestions would be great...... I already did the grounds for my big 3, im being kinda lazy on the power side =P...THANKS

btw this is what i got now....

speakers in the doors...

my amp with the factory 6x9's hooked up to it.....
