Baffles?

Ok, I'm putting together my Crutchfield order. Couple questions for you experts

For the fronts, I decided on the Infinity Kappa 6022si 6.5s, and in the back Infinity Kappa 692.7i 6x9s.

I notice Crutchfield's got these foam speaker baffles. Are they worth the extra few bucks? Wouldn't be hard to stick them on when I'm installing the speakers anyway.

And is the 4x6 to 5.25/6.5 speaker bracket they sell ok? Or should I get one somewhere else?

Honestly i suggest you take the $169.99 you are gonna spend on rear speakers and add it to the $99.99 your would spend on the front speakers and invest in a nice front stage. Also the foam baffles you speak of are pretty much worthless, and the brackets i have used b4 and i suggest you make your own out of mdf cause i wasnt very impressed by the adapters they sell. I would take the~$270 you were gonna spend on front and rears and buy a realy nice 6.5" comp set for the fronts and drop a few dollars into deadening the front doors. Just my 2 cents.

Quality MDF Adapters on eBayhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4x6-to-6-5-6-Speaker-Adapter-97-05-Malibu-Grand-Am_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38646QQihZ023QQitemZ360031763731QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

^I have those for my 6.5s and they work great, screwed right on.

The baffles are not worth it as some sound deadening material will be cheaper and more effective.

Those are decent speakers but I would look on eBay for better prices. I got both my 6.5s and 6x9s from eBay seller: x-sounds without any trouble at all and I couldn't be happier with 'em. Plus they cost me about $180 altogether shipped.

And look for an amp to compliment whatever speakers you get. You'll appreciate them so much more.

i would defiantly buy some comps for the front and a decent amp. Check out sonic for good prices. I got the infinity comps and love em!! Definitely get the mdf adapters and forget the baffles. Me personally im gonna get the comps for the back too just cause i dont want kick pods because of where i live. Im not sure how far you wanna go with this but if you dont wanna get an amp that set up should be fine but dont use the plastic adapters.....DO NOT get the component speakers if you dont plan on using an amp, it will be a waste of money....

my speakers....

my amp....

just remember, you will get very little bass with this set up and the highs on these speakers are VERY loud and can be harsh at times....but i like it

This set up is fairly loud and sounds good IMO....you would need some base tho....
