Im in the market for a new amp for my alpine SWr-1242d
Right now I have the crappy Pioneer gm-7100m, just not working for me
so I have these in mind
kicker
alpine m1000
alpine mrp-m850
Sub is a dual 4ohm vc and i listen mostly to rock, country and some hip hop
right now the sub is in a 1cuft ported box
I need some input on which amp would best suit my subwoofer
Out of the ones listed, kicker. Kicker amps are far better built then alpine amps.

anyone else?
drubjk posting fort the win!!!!
this amp is cheaper then those amps mentioned. And it also puts out cea2006 rated watts. 1500watt rms to be exact @2ohms. Only $240.00. Here it is:
Clarion DPX11500
Sorry but the Clarion amp does not produce rated power. Jracer aka lil John runs them amps in his bass race astro and is having nothing but problems with them. IMHO, kicker takes the cake, out of all the amps listed in this thread.

i love his install
but go with the kicker your be happy
Really I thought it would produce that power. Because its CEA-Rated. I thought all amps that said that has to be true watts. That sucks then.

CEA rating means nothing. CEA ratings are done at steady 14.4v at a true ohm load which will never see in a real life scenario. Im not saying that all cea rated amps wont produce rated power but just because it says its cea compliant, doesnt mean that its gonna produce the power it says its going to.
