im look for a new amp so far im looking at a
sundown 3000D $700 refurb or $825 new
XXV colossus $600 new
2 more dei D2400's $300 (i have 2 now)
Depends on ohm load, Sundown puts out power @ 1 ohm were the Hifonics puts power out @ 2 ohms. If ohm load doesntt matter (meaning you are gonna buy subs after amp and can choice the coil config you want to match the sub) i would go Sundown. I know most people will call my opion bias because im a rep but why would i rep a company unless i didnt have trust in Jacob and all his products. IMHO Sundown's CS is unmatched. No experence with the Dei D2500's so i have no comment on them.

i need to get my sub's re-coned or new ones so the ohms don't matter to much.
Jacob really seems to go out of his way for his customers.
Are your DEI amps strappable?

Have you thought about an Opti 4000d?
has anyone ever did any real world test on one?
I never benched an Opti4000D but i have clamped an Opti6000D and i will say i was impressed for the money. The board is based of the Sound Stream XXX10000 but the Opti6000D actualy has more caps and better parts. I will tell you this tho, off all the opti lines i have clamped (bunch of Opti2000D's, Opti6000D and couple of the HC's) but they all producted slightly more then rated power.

Some people laugh when I tell them I'm running mostly Lanzar gear, but when they hear it they shut up quick. I've been really impressed with this batch of Optidrive gear, and I knew I really took one for the team because not a whole lot of people do run it. I've been contemplating getting rid of my hk401sx's and running one 4000 or 6000 for the 4 12's.
