I use www.darvex.com for wire and home depot exclusively for wood. I've had problems in the past with lowes wood (and there's a test somewhere with lowes vs home depot wood, home depot did way better)
dude just go to radioshack for speaker wire, my whole system is radioshack wire thats good quality stuff. some shacks still sell power wires if you need.
right now 50ft of 18-gague speaker wire is $7
I just went to my local shop and bought it by the ft.

what he said i got all my wire 3-4 years ago from knu and never had a problem with it, plus i just got 20ft of 0ga and 10ft of 4ga for an install im doing now in a co workers car.
I love kicker wire and accessories, thats what i use in all my cars but its hard to find it cheap online. You can get kits off ebay dirt cheap but when your looking to purchase bulk wire, knukonceptz is the way to go. Great prices, awsome products (except for the KLM line, that sh!t sucks), fast shipping and pretty good cs.

I wouldnt mess with the KLM personaly. Its just a bitch to work with all around. Its extermly stiff and getting crimps to stay on is impossible. Its also not even realy copper wire (its copper clad alum) , i suggest you take a look at the kollosus or flex cable instead.

so knuconcepts for the wire, but is there different lines? dont buy the low end stuff?
i just need some 4 ga power wire (for big 3) and some 12 ga speaker wire to hook up my subs.
I personally suggest using 1/0 for the big 3, but its not a must for a stock alt, just preference (a must for a h/o alt tho). Stay away from the KLM power wire, i suggest you either go with kollosus or kollosus flex series (personaly i would go with the flex cable seeing there both the same price).

i have a stock alt, but have about 500 rms watts running b/t two amps in my trunk.. i was told 4 ga would be fine.. but i live by the motto go big or go home
wut do you recommend? (i want my wallet to stay big too)

Reason i personal suggest 1/0 is for future upgrade, it saves you money down the road. If you dont plan on upgrading your system or alt in the future, you can get away with 4GA.

why would you want 18awg wire in your car? Are you wiring some headphones in there?
Cheapest place to get wire north of the border is Princess Auto, welding cable.
But like others have said a thousand times, welding cable is often super-stiff and can be quite difficult to work with in car.
It seems up here MDF is all within a buck or two no matter where I go.
