this happens all the time, they just want more money. just get the 40$ one from scosche and you will be fine. gm2000+ and it is sold for 40 bucks at my local walmart. with this harness there is no need to add the extra wires connected to your battery. it works just like the 150$ units.

My eyes are still bleeding from the original post. Did you check any of the stickies up top?

Why are you so angry about this? Because a "shop" (who doesn't specialize in Jbodies) told you so? Just go out and buy what you need, from the information that us dedicated people have given to you, rather than getting angry when a general shop has told you something different.

No need to flip out man.

printing it off wont do anything he'll just say these guys are all idiots. even if you show them the wiring harness and that your radio works they will likely spout off about how youve now messed up your computer or how your airbags or whatnot wont go off.

I'll tell you that first hand where I worked, we were aware that most of the newer GM vehicles that had the expensive harness's, had a cheaper counter part that would do the job fine. The thing is that 1, when we go to the company who makes the harness to check to see which one it lists, it would list the expensive ones. It doesnt cross check and see that a saturn harness would work or whatever. There were a few we knew here and there and would offer it to them if they wanted it. 2, we would never install a radio w/o using one of those, regardless if all you lost was chimes. We've had cases of customers coming back from the dealer bitching about something and the dealer stating because we used the cheap harness, we messed their car up.

dealers say the audio system messed up the cars even if you guys used the right wires.
