Hey guys,
Got all my wiring today, cept for the RCA's and remote wire. So, thought I'd go ahead and put the power wire in place (Not actually connecting it), so when the amp comes, all I'd have to do is bolt everything up and make all the connections. But, I've ran into a snag. It was no problem running it to the trunk. I used a rubber gromet on the drivers side that had a few wires running through it, and hide the wire under the plastic panels. The problem is as follows:
Where can I mount the ANL fuse holder in the engine bay?
I can't really see anywhere, so I'm looking for advice. Here's a picture of the engine bay and the holder (On top of the battery) itself:
Any suggestions are welcome. So far I've been suggested the side of the battery or the side of the airbox with velcro or double-sided tape, or on top of the fuse box cover (Although I don't think there's enough clearence) Thanks
here is where I have mine, not sure if it will work for you. I have an aftermarket intake and it's been so long since I had my factory I can't remember if the factory air box will interfere with where I have mine.
I'm not sure if it'll fit but mine is on the side of the fuse box cover, in between the fuse box cover and battery.
adam you have really got to swap out that intake, it will save you so much trouble. want a deal on mine if i order a blue one..lol.
I was able to mount a pair of bulky AGU fuse holders right on top of my air box in my '97 2.2 OHV, which only minor tight clearance with the hood. My only indication of how tight things are was that the insulation developed a couple of form-fitting indents. No problems otherwise.

There's not even any insulation on the underside of my hood haha, but it looks to be too tight to squeeze it on top of there.
But here's some options I've come up with:
Well, just wired the Amp's ground to the chassis, and tried to figure out a spot for that holder. Here's what I see as possibilities this far:
1: Black02Cavy Idea - Metal Plate
The wire would have to be cut shorter here...almost too short I believe. It'd be from the holder, only to the battery post. What do you guys think?
2. On The Side Of The Battery
This could work, and it looks very clean. Only thing is I'd have to protect it from the ledge of metal the battery sits on, to protect from fraying. It'd be a tight squeeze to fit the wire into the Holder with the ledge that close. Also, It'd be awfully close to a coolant hose.
3. Zip-Tied On The Intake
I actually think this one would work well.
Let me know what you guys think?
i say make the wire longer and mount it to the strut tower...it would be a lot easier if you had an after market intake
Of the arrangements pictured, I'd probably try to make the "beside battery" arrangement word. Trying on the strut tower is also a good idea.
Here are a couple of shots of my arrangement, to prove it can happen. I just don't know how much more space your ANL holder needs than my pair of AGUs. It looks taller.

Well went at it again tonight. I have it in a temporary spot for now, until I see what Black02Cavy has made up for me. Ended up placing it in the groove on top of the airbox.
At first, I put it here, and zip-tied it down:
But, it didn't let me hood close right, it bumped it up on the drivers side. So, not wanting to leave it until tommrow, I fixed it by moving it towards the motor a bit, so that it it fit in one of the "holes" on the uderside of the hood, that is, it would not bring up on the under-hood bracing. Here's where it is now:
I grounded the wire, so the Blue LED is shing brightly now.
But, one question. My power line runs really close to the brake module. Here's another picture:
I now have it zip-tied back so it's not in contact with any of it, but should that power wire be that close to the module? I'm just hoping it doesn't interfere with the brakes! More updates as they come.
It's alright. If you think of it, if it comes loose the wire will disconnect from the battery before landing on anything.
Here's an idea, how about you get the wire completely into the hole of the terminal?
also run the wire on the other side of the intake box, there is a littel room
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

That's the first thing I noticed. That is scary.
i just screwed my fuse block on to the firewall, but im not running a guage as big as that.
