check it, know how to do the big 3 and whats its for ect....... my question is whats the easiest way to get to the positive on the alternator on the ecotec? it seems like its almost impossible with out taking the alternator out. I did the grounds already and it helped a little but i need too hook up the positive becuase my lights still dim and i dont want to kill my alternator.....doesnt look like fun to change. Any help would be great! I know a 4 guage wire is rated for about 125 amps but is a 100 amp fuse good enough? i got the wire ready to go....
I have a 100 amp fuse on mine (4ga) and it works fine. Im only running a 1000w amp and have never turned it all the way up.
I have a 2200 however, and couldnt tell you what to do about the physical running of the wire however. Good luck with it! It helps a TON.
Just attach it where the positive goes to the starter. Thats really the only way. Its not as good as a direct connection but its better than going via the engine wiring harness.
