here's what i already have : pioneer HU, pair of eclipses in the back and pair of pioneers in the front (gonna replace that with either alpine or boston acoustics). during this weekend i am installing a rockford fosgate sub powered by audiobahn amp, and also i am gonna amp the eclipses as well. but my main concern is front speakers. i already got 6.5' adapters ready just waiting for the right speakers, i really wanna get good sound out of them. but i know there's gonna be a lot of rattling from them (i already have some in the back) so i am ready for that as well... i'll keep you guys posted of my progress.
if you want good sound out of your front speaker, put them in kick panels and amp the fromt speakers rather than the eclipses, a good front stage with a little rear fill > overpowering rear stage and underpowered frontstage.... especially since your ears are "designed", for lack of a better word, to hear sounds in front of you and when you go to concerts the sound is generally in front of you. just my $.02 tho
"I did it because I wanted to see what it would look like. You should be greatful that I even told you that it would look good. If your to dumb to use photoshop and change the color of your own car then you don't need to see it changed. I'm not going to give my work away. I'll sell the pic to you though for $15."-Adam Kalin
^^JBO is about not being that guy
i agree with you, but it doesn't hurt to have an extra pair of speakers... they're not the best, just good enough to produce clear highs and mids. but my main concern right now is this rattling i am getting from everywhere, even my license plate rattles when i didn't even put a sub in! i am gonna work real hard to finish it all off by the end of the week and i'll tell you exactly just what i think of it.
having more speakers will make it louder, but louder doesnt mean better. the more speakers you put in your car the harder it will be to acheive any type of soundstage. the best sounding (sound quality) cars out there generally dont often have more then 6 or so speakers.
as far as rattling its try to get foam or sound damping sheets or spray and getting rid of them one by one. youll'e never have an accurate system if you can hear rattles.
