Need Help, Deciding Budget Setup
Thursday, May 15, 2008 7:41 PM
I am about to purchase a nice subwoofer/box setup. I have a 1000 watt amp to use, i had a solobaric 15" L7 in my car for a few days, loved it. Seems too much money for me to go spend though.

What is a good setup I could get with 300 Dollars give or take little bit. Box and Subwoofer combo, even a custom box. I have looked at FI SSD's or Q. JL's, Kickers. I really don't know what i should get, i want the best sounding, and loudest for my money. Thanks for the help!

it is a lanzar vibe 250. Max output 1000 watts. 2 channel, but bridgable
here is a shot of it. Got it for free from a buddy that didn't want it anymore, works perfectly. Not sure on all of the specs.

But here is a link for the specs.

Thanks for all of the help

For budget that sounds good - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=16440 x2. I've recommended these to a few of the guys on here and they couldn't be happier.

anything more along the lines of mainstream, that i could know of. Or is this lanzar sub remotley close sounding to any subs i might know of. Looking for a realiable sub. Rockford Fostage proved it wrong, blew a P1 on a 250 watt max amp. Cheap crap.

So you're looking to buy local, is that it?

Run around town, check out the stereo shops and see what they sell, then come back here and list em so we can tell you which ones to buy.

By the way, a sub won't blow unless you are overpowering it or clipping your amp. Are you sure you know how to set the amp?

I meant, more mainstream, subwoofers i have more knowledge on. Like in the first post, FI and JL's. I had the amp setup when i took it to abc for an install thinking it would fix my engine noise....wrong, but anway just looking for a nice hard hitting, budget setup.

I would say from the three you listed, JL is the best sounding in that price bracket. If you want hard hitting, take a kicker comp vr.

"I did it because I wanted to see what it would look like. You should be greatful that I even told you that it would look good. If your to dumb to use photoshop and change the color of your own car then you don't need to see it changed. I'm not going to give my work away. I'll sell the pic to you though for $15."-Adam Kalin
