so i was thinking and took into concideration the fact that it is a better idea to invest in front 6.5 set of speakers... i already have 1 set of 100 watts RMS alpine speakers and i am thinking of purchasing another one and install them next to each other, and power them with eclipse 4 channel amp. and also i wanna get another 10' sub and power it with another audiobahn amp. anyway, to my question now... does anybody have a 6 speakers + 2 woofer system? how does it sound? i mean this is a huge investment and i'd like to consult with you guys if it's trully worth it or not?
and i've been running some numbers and with all this the output would be around 1000 RMS... big 3, capacitor and other modifications would be needed to achieve stable voltage for such power... and sound deadening of course... LOTS OF IT... what do you guys think, should i go for it?
Although I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, this is what I'm running
Set of 5 1/4 components in kickpanels
Set of 6 1/2 components for the doors (not installed yet)
Set of 3 way components (6 1/2, 5 1/4, tweeter) in the rear side panels
Set of 8 inch 3 way speakers in the back deck
4 subs
3 amps
eq
HO alternator
2 batteries
1/0 big 3
My suggestion for you - Yellowtop or equivalent under the hood, 4 gauge big 3, no capacitor. 1 set of components in kickpanels, one set in the doors. Amp them.
I would say that 2 subs is standard fare
your the only one that can tell wether its worth it or not. if your going for quality more speakers usually doesn't mean better sound. if your just going for loudn then more speakers is a good way of going about it, and 1000 watts for our cars should't be much of a problem if you upgrade the big 3 and have a halfway decent battery. im pushing over 1200 watts without any dimming or electrical issues.
