I bought my head unit a couple of years ago brand new from Best Buy and it didn't come with a remote. My niece has one for her Pioneer unit and I love it, so much so that I'd like to pick one up for mine. There are a bunch of different Alpine remotes but I've yet to find any specifying they work for my head unit.

I assumed since mine didn't come with one that none would work but I'm not sure.

usually any remote that was that years remote they had should work. I had an older alpine a few years back and my remote worked on my friends who had the previous year. I tried looking on alpine's site for a part # for a remote but it didnt even find anything for your cd player. I would give them a call and see if they can get you a part # for one and then hit up ebay.

I have this remote and it suits my needs...for the most part, still have to browse the ipod using the head unit though lol

Upon further research, I found out the CDE-9845 is not remote ready, meaning no remote works with it.

I even tried the RUE-4202 that came with my new CDA-9885
