I recently bought a 1998 Z24 with full power. but no keyless entry... Not sure if the car had it at one point or not... but when i bought it, there were no key-fobs included.
just wondered if there is a way to add this feature without alot of extra hassle. My 02 z24 has it and i love it... so if a can add it to the 98 i would very much like to know what i need to do.
my poor baby is sick... someone help me...
(2.4L engine in my cavy is ticking bad... need to make it stop)
most decent audio shops can do it for dirt cheap. i did it for my gf's beretta a while ago for like 100 bucks.

All stock...........lol.
check in the trunk, driver's side behind the carpet. should be a black controller box mounted back there that says 'keyless entry module' or something like that if it came equipped.
As stated by ^^^^. Check the trunk on the drivers side behind the carpet. I do believe all 1998 Z24s had keyless entry. Mine does. If it does, you should be able to order new key fobs for it.
98 Z24
RIP Specks
ok cool, i will need to check on that.
is there a trick to programming your own fobs? i can probably get some fobs cheap, but just dont know how to program them.
or does a dealership need to do this?
i think you hold both lock and unlock at the same time for like 30 or more seconds
or you can check the library for the instructions

library? as in like the public library where they have all those funny piles of paper wrapped in carrdboard?
or is there a library or archive of some sort here on the site i dont know about (like the dummy i am)
steps for 95-99 jbodies
step 1 pop the trunk
step 2 turn car to accessory with keys (do not start car)
step 3 check your trunk. on the left side pull the carpet back now. look for a black box and a lose wire hanging around
step 4 take either a paper clip or small enough flat head and jump the two prongs from the hanging wire.
if done right the doors should unlock and lock as well as the trunk. (do not remove paper clip or flat head until trunk stops)
step 5 take your new keyfob and hold the lock and unlock button
if done right the doors will once again unlock and lock as well as the trunk like before
