i am trying to tune my system to play a nice balance between highs and lows and so far lows just suck!
my 300 watts alpines barely produce any bass so i added a 700 watts subwoofer which gives me a lot of headache because it booms too much. could it be because the box is too big? the specs on the sub say it should be 0.7 cubical feet while my box is at 1.2. any inputs are appreciated
what sub are you running and what amp are you using? if your sub is too boomy you can always turn the gains down

the gain isnt suppose to be turned down to lower bass, your suppose to match the gain with the radio pre- amp output voltage
so i turned down the gains and it helped a little bit, but it's still boomy... could it be the size of the box being too big? or what else would you guys suggest?
probably the size of the box being too small.
Can you tell us which models you have, what size box?
tune down the settings on the radio itself....if that doesnt work buy a sub and amp from walmart

dont tell people to buy stuff from walmart, its low quality and makes yourself look like you dont know much about car audio
