hey guys got a quick question..just got a new amp..its the kicker SX series..the one with the digital display..well ive never worked with one like this...i havnt installed it yet, but it goes under a special back seat delete box with plexi glass so id really like to figure this out before install......
this amp doesnt have the "knob" adjustments like most othe amps ive worked with...it only has buttons and a digital readout........so what happens if the battery goes dead..or gets disconnected???? will the amp reset everything??? or will it somehow retain its settings untile it gets power again?? anyone know? thanks
good question, youd have to read the owners manual but i would assume it would have to be reset
"I did it because I wanted to see what it would look like. You should be greatful that I even told you that it would look good. If your to dumb to use photoshop and change the color of your own car then you don't need to see it changed. I'm not going to give my work away. I'll sell the pic to you though for $15."-Adam Kalin
^^JBO is about not being that guy
holy crap..if thats true then im not installing it....my battery gets unplugged quite a bit..and the amp is completely untouchable unless i take everything apart...so unless it retains settings then i cant use it
it keeps the settings

ok so it DOES keep the settings? i take it theres some type of internal battery or something? have you had any experience with this line of amp? thanks
get a memory saver, or make one. all it is is a 9V battery that plugs into your cigarette lighter socket. to make one, just grab a power outlet extension, cut the wires, and wire on a 9V battery terminal. poof, never reset again.

dont have a cigarette lighter
it will keep the settings, it has 4 preset settings loaded on there and you can choose and adjust any.

then dont use the 12v accessory port, get a pair of alligator clips and hook it to any constant hot and a ground. BUT, sounds like you wont need it afterall.

No it holds the settings internally. Kicker was smart enough to design this feature when they made that amp. If you are worried about it, just get the KX amp. It's way easier to mess with anyways. I was happy when we stopped carrying the SX amp. I hated have to set them up. Then like a month later the cust. would mess with it and come back to me pissed off.
lol
funny you should mention that...i actually have the kx..its a 650romsx4 ..and sounded GREAT...i had it bridged for my 2 12s ..so now i have gone with the kicker 600x2 SX since i wanted a 2 channel that my remote bass adj. would actually WORK..i was just worried about installing it once it came in..since i didnt get any insructions..damn ebay...so now i have a 4way kicker kx 60 for sale if anyone is interested
