well just decided to upgrade the subs from 2 mtx roadthunder 10's to 2 alpine type r 10's. so now i'm in the conundrum of not having an amp powerful enough to power them. the subs are DVC 4 ohm and i am looking for a 1 channel amp that puts out around 1000 watts RMS at 1 ohm without breaking the bank. any ideas would be appreciated.

If your to dumb to use photoshop and change the color of your own car then you don't need to see it changed. I'm not going to give my work away. I'll sell the pic to you though for $15."-Adam Kalin

i have the rockford fosgate p1000 amp and it pushes out 1000 watts rms at one 1ohm. its a good amp IMO, i have it powering 2 rockford p3s (12") and doing it WELL.. its a little more then 300 but well worth it
I forgot about the 1ohm part..lol. well umm.... the MA audio HK401sx on woofersect is 100 bucks more but has 1200watts rms @1ohm. might be worth saving up for?
0cavZ24: the alpine wont work as i bought d4 woofers, thanks tho
grimez: how much did the p1000 run you?

I haven't heard much about kenwoods amps but if your just wanting something thats going to put power to the subs, its a good deal, I would suggest saving money for the MA hk401sx if you want something that will make those subs work hehe

that rockford amp is no joke.....its a lil expensive but its a beast! most birth sheets i have seen are all over 1200 watts rms and it will do it with no problem all the time. I have installed a lot of these and some people come back complaining its to loud and return it....go figure
if i was you i would save for a couple weeks, you wont regret it....or even a diff amp just spend your money ONE time and you will be happy!
Ok well I'm replaing my mtx 6000 10" subs tomorrow for the type R 1022D's. I'm running with an MTX 6500D. I have sealed enclosure with 1ft vol. I will be rebuilding th boxes eventually but tomorow I am simply swapping the subs. I'll let you know how it goes.
i have a Planet Audio VX4002 2 channel 800 watts amp i am selling... i don't know if it's 1 ohm stable or not, but i used that thing to power 2 subs and it did a great job doing just that.
the rockford p1000-1bd amp cost me about $400 brand new. im also gonna take video of my set up and put it on youtube for everyone to see!
is this a good deal? i can get it for 199 locally and its got sufficient power. i just really dont know how high quality lanzar amps are

If you are looking for a 1 ohm mono amp...the lanzar amp is definately not it. Its only 2 ohm stable

well obviously not but it is 2 ohm stable in stereo, an it puts out a lot of power that way

that amp looks pretty nice. but id have to use it in 4 ohm. which is fine. what i was implying was that i would be willing to go for a 2 channel amp that puts out around 500W RMS at 2 ohms

the subs you have can each be wired down to 2 ohms and run to the amp. the amp has 2 sets of terminals that accept 2ohm stable subs. if you set it up that way, you will still see a 2ohm load....if i remember right

that amp would see a one ohm load. those 2 sets of terminals are wired in parallel to each other.
