its a 98 2200. i put a new cluster and ignition in and now it wont relearn. it runs for about 5sec each time then dies. the theftlock light blinks 5 or so times and then stays on solid. the relearn procedure says it should keep blinking for 10min. any ideas would be great.
i would probably pay someone to clear off the anti theft system with hp tuners. just throwing that out there
Are you keeping the key turned to ignition, door shut and letting it chill for 10 minutes?
yes. it runs for a good 5 seconds then shuts off, the light blinks 5 times, then stays on solid.i wait ten minutes and it does the same thing
what is this box thing?
That thing pictured above is the Convenience Centre, sort of a pre-cursor to the Body Control Module on the 2000+ models. It does your door chimes, turn signal flashers, and some other things I can't think of right now.
If the security telltale isn't FLASHING for the full 10 minutes, then it's likely not Passlock that is the problem.
Your Photobucket link doesn't work for me.
thanks lenko

"I did it because I wanted to see what it would look like. You should be greatful that I even told you that it would look good. If your to dumb to use photoshop and change the color of your own car then you don't need to see it changed. I'm not going to give my work away. I'll sell the pic to you though for $15."-Adam Kalin
^^JBO is about not being that guy
I would check out your fuel pressure, probably your fuel pump or a really clogged fuel filter. Are you throwing any codes? A lean code is what I'd expect.
It's definitely NOT Passlock. Passlock would shut it down much sooner (after, maybe, 2 seconds) and would have a solid light.
thanks lenko, again. i think it is the pump. i got one from a junk yard but have a question.
http://
what does that hose do? i got just the pump only and tried to hook it up but that hose was pumpin alot of fuel. my pressure gauge was only reading 15 psi with out that hooked up.
It's been a while since I had one apart, but I think that's the hose that goes from the pump to the venturi assembly.... it pumps fuel thru a small opening, which draws more fuel into the cup to pump up to the car. If you don't hook that up, I figure it could run dry in the cup at WOT and low fuel levels - like guys were having issues with those other fuel pumps that weren't working right until they cut the cup open (which was the wrong solution... but I digress).
I've always just changed the whole assembly... except when it came to the 3800 swap in the vert. I remember having to jerry-rig that hose to stay in place.
