From Maintenance forum. Head unit help!

Hey all, haven't been on in a while.

Well, my 1996 Sunfire is ready to hit the road, but there's still a few small details I have to work out. The one that I'm trying to work on right now is this. I bought it with an aftermarket head unit installed, and Eclipse of some sort (I can find out the model if it helps). THe problem is that NONE of the buttons work except Eject. It gets power, I've reset it a few times to no avail, but none of the buttons work. It just says "DISK". I can't turn it off, turn it to radio mode, nothing. What's going on? Am I not connected somewhere?

I have the same problem, only with my 2004 Cavalier. I have power, and i can check the time on my stock deck. It just won't turn on. Same deal with the aftermarket one I have. The wires all line up right. I was hopin that someone had a picture or a diagram or even could tell me the right pin-out order for the Body harness ( the harness that comes from under the dash to the stock deck.) just so i can make sure that their all in the right place. I had the deck out before and it worked when i plugged it back in. it just don't work now.

Thanks for any help

Perhaps your +12 turn on isn't working. Pull the head unit out and check it for 12 volts. Also check fuses. Maybe you have a blown fuse.

check the pins that connect the faceplate to the deck and make sure they're all straight.

Mine's not a removable faceplate though.

Fuses are all fine, I'll be checking voltage momentarily.
