First off, I know theres threads, I did search, but I'm wondering about my specific amp.
I have a audiobahn a8001dt, on the amp theres a few different choices to tune the amp.
There is:
Bass boost(adjustments are 0-18db)
LPF(adjustments are 50-150)
Sub Sonic(adjustments are 15-40)
Level(i know what this is)
Also you can choose the phase? Which is either 0 or 180.
My main question what is Bass Boost, LPF, and Sub Sonic? Also what would you reccomend tuning those to.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.
LPF (Low pass filter) and Sub Sonic are adjustments are what determine which sound frequencies are passed by the amplifier to your speaker(s). They are used to prevent subwoofers from being faced with higher frequencies than they can produce. The setting here depends on the subwoofers used, the quality of your main sound stage speakers (ie. where they can begin to pick up the midbass) and personal taste.
Bass boost should be used sparingly, since a properly adjusted level setting and head unit setting should achieve the same thing. It artificially ramps up the amplitude of low frequencies, which can make tuning more difficult (and unwanted "clipping" easier to cause accidentally).
Level is the main thing you should worry about for "tuning" as you've read in other threads.
