Head units with color-change lighting?
Monday, September 22, 2008 5:52 PM
Just wondering if anybody still makes a head unit with buttons/screen colors are are changeable. I know Panasonic had one a few years ago, but now it seems like everybody makes them with blue lighting, which is stupid since there are no car manufacturers that I know of with blue interior lighting.

Thanks for any info

Yea My JVC has a @!#$ ton of colors. Not more than 100 but more than you would need.

I know the older Alpine units let you select a button/screen color as well as set it to randomly cycle through the colors while it is on. Don't know if the newer models do that anymore tho.

My Alpine cda-9885 can change from blue to red. Couldn't be happier with the headunit. I leave it on red all of the time. Looks kinda pink during the day (like the sunfire gauges do), but at night it is for sure a deep red. No pics of the blue sorry I'm at college and my cavs at home.

my sony CDX-GT400 headunit has 7 different colors to choose from and the buttons light up red so at night when its all lit up it looked stock b/c the red matched the interior lights perfectly, of course my headunits a couple years old but its the best headunit ive ever owned IMO.

My Alpine IDA x100 lets you change from blue to red as well, the red matches the Sunfire gauges perfectly.

Hold down setup until menu comes up
Turn volume knob until illumination shows on the screen
press ent (usually play/pause)
turn volume knob to select from (probably) red and blue

yeah, no green though :\
