wanted to know if someone could figure out my problem i can't turn my deck up. it cuts out way before even distortion it will like just shut down and reset itself anybody know what this is all about ? car is a 98 sunfire 2.2
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
It could be anything - could be a faulty head unit, could be a bad ground, could be a short, could be a problem with wiring. I would suggest you double check everything over and use a multimeter to help you.
a multimeter is a good idea, I would hook it up to the power wire and see where that gets you. I had to run a new power wire for my deck straight to the battery with an in-line fuse. My deck did the same thing, couldnt go past 1/8th volume and it owuld cut out. So try this and use a multimeter as stated above. Also, I would go with atleast a 12 guage wire to be on the safe side to be sure you are getting enough power.
