Speaker question?????
Monday, October 13, 2008 3:41 PM
I am in need to replace my old 4x6 in my door speakers, As I was looking for speaker @ the stereo shop, I was thinking of puttin in a pair of 5 1/4. or 6 1/2. I dont mind cutting the door panel, In my opinon the sound would be more greater, Then the 4x6. Just wanted some input on what u guys think.

Thanks.

I'm still fairly new to this but I just had some 2 way 5 1/4s put in and LOVE the difference, but if you could get an adapter & put some 6 1/2s in it'd probably be best. I've noticed most audio buffs take it to the next level & put Components in.

ya you should make baffles if you want to keep the midbass too though not just cut and be careful if you have manual windows, i fiberglassed 2 6.5's in custom pods on that part of my doors and sound great!

I put a set of Lightning Audio 6.5" in my doors with a set of adapters from MJM Auto innovations. bought them off of ebay, nicely made and fit perfect.

I'm happy with the output of the speakers
