ok so I have never heard any jbl subs in person. How do they perform? I currently have some jl w0 subs and its just not cutting it anymore. The subs are old and the setup was my first fiberglass project and with me being young and stubborn I didn't feel the need to calculate the air space for each sub.
So basically my question is what kind of subs should I go with? I have a JBL GTO1201.1 1200 Watt Grand Touring Series already and I like it so I already have an amp to power it and I am willing to get another one depending on how many/powerful subs I get.
So this is what I was thinking. I have always been a big fan of the wow factor. So I personally wouldn't mind doing 4 12" subs. But also 2 is enough for me as well
Here's a couple I was thinking about:

http://www.amazon.com/JBL-GT4-10-Subwoofer/dp/B001110ZDE/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1225241989&sr=8-19
The reason I am thinking jbl is because I like the amp and its always nice to have the same brand matching (I know its not important but its a small plus)
I am open to any suggestions. I would like to keep each sub under $200. But then again if its not I will mostlikely go with 2 mephis pr's.

well im not big on telling people what to buy but jbl has always been a solid company as far as i know. their not big advertisers, they just claim what they put out and call it a day. if you have the bottom end sub from jl right now in a box not built to size i can see why your tired of them. the box has everything to do with how a sub performs, the best sub in the world in a bad enclosure will sound like poop. if you like the way your jbl sounds, by all means go grab another or 3 others and go crazy. just make sure you put them in the right enclosure or your going to end up with another sub par system.

i've heard most of the jbl lines speakers and subs......if you want to stay with jbl i would try out the 12mkii it hits pretty hard and clean...and can take plenty of power, i tryed it on my p1000-1 from rockford fosgate and its birthed at almost 1300 watts rms, and it handled it fine. just make a box to spec and you should be happy........and if you dont mind switching companies, go with like fi or re audio they make some good stuff for a good price........just my 2cents
