like the title says, anyone else had problems with bad gas mileage after installin HIDs?
no.....the 2 are completely unrelated.....
thats what i thought but i was gettin 30 mpg and all of a sudden it dropped severely when installed them

That was rather uncalled for.
car audio noob since 1984.
yeah. you're right.
car audio noob since 1984.
ok thanks guys that helped alot....
What were you expecting? Its unrelated, that's all there is to it
did i say anywhere in the thread it was? i just thought to ask cause sometimes cars do crazy things. may just be crappy gas, just thought it was odd that ive filled up three times since i installed them and each time my mpg have been nowhere what it was. doesnt hurt to ask
Might want to try the hyper active blinker fluid.. Might be low...
could be....ill def jump right on it....lol
Wow is all I have to say.
Maybe you need to change your air filter or an o2 sensor or something? Lol.

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
You see, now that you have more light to push against when you're driving at night, of course your MPH is going to go down. Jeez, I mean, those things are like wicked bright.
I don't see what's so mystifying about this. Brighter lights = More current draw = Alternator load = Horsepower Loss = HIDs ruin fuel economy! They also cause erectile dysfunction.

once again yall hav proved that you cant asked questions on here. the OP had a simple question. there was no need to jump on the him

there is a red X in top right corner, if there's a problem feel free to use it
check your oil... keep up on maintinance. lights wont effect MPG. unless they are heavy lighjts
ok here is a little help. try taking the hid's out and put stock back in. so we can cancel out that problem. Then let us know what may be the problem. hope this helps sorry for the loss of miles.
are your muffler bearings worn? also the hyper active blinker fluid works great with my LEDs
nah but the two are unrelated. do you keep up on your maintenence? (air filter, fuel filter, o2 sensor)
Did I mention I drive a 2000 Lumina now?-----wigm-tuners.org member
If you got better mileage before, and now you don't, think about what you did...
Did you disconnect the battery when you put in the HID system?
Did you bump a ground cable somewhere?
Any voltage drop in the system can cause electrical issues that can in some circumstances cause lower MPG. If the computer isn't getting enough juice, it might not tell the spark to advance, or might not tell the fuel injectors to cutoff on deceleration, or God only knows what.
If this HID install is the ONLY thing you did, retrace your steps and figure out what might have gone wrong. The internet is not a likely place to find a quick answer to this. Electrical issues are best attacked with a nice paper wiring diagram and a multimeter unless it's something painfully obvious.
HID kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LMFAO @ this thread!!!!! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
