Serious issue need help
Tuesday, November 18, 2008 8:03 PM
I have S15 headlights installed and its creating a few issues. 1) ill just be driving along and all my warning lights will come on. (ABS and BRAKE lights come on when I hit the brakes.) Also, the TRAC OFF light will come on and the service light. 2.) While all of this happens, all my gauges drop, speedometer goes to zero, gas goes to empty, temp goes to 100, and rpm goes to zero. then all the gauges go back to normal. Also, I am running a 1000W amp, which I;ve had for a while and whenever the bass hits, the headlights dim, and I can see the faint lighting of both my turn signals even when im not using them. My friend rewired the headlights, re grounded them, which made the high beams work again. (they didn't work before) and sometimes my DRLS run. Ive tried everything and don't know what could be causing this.

Check your battery and check your alternator.

He checked the battery and it was like 12.1 volts

this happened to me a while back when my intake piping was grounding to my battery when I hit a big bump.

I modified the intake away from the battery, and it never happened again.

I would check to see if anything is hitting the battery terminals, or is close enough that they could if something moved slightly.

ok ill check that. So you think that its def. something grounding though? Anything else to check since it seems to happen more if my heat is on.

This definitely sounds like a loose power or ground connector. It could also be some sort of short at the headlights causing these issues.
