Viper 5701 alarm

I'm thinking about buying this alarm system. I've been researching it for the past week and still have yet to find decent reviews on it. I was wondering if any one had one or knows some one that does. I have like 2 grand worth of electronics in my car and no security system. I need this pronto. Plus I get this for like $150.

I have never had any problems with my viper systems. I have 2 of the 791xv, and would like to upgrade to the newer model with 1+ mile range.

I dont know anyone using this model, but I would consider battery cost, as 2 ways tend to chew up batteries faster, but other than that looks like a nice unit, with a classier look to the fob.

i have installed about 15 of these already and they seem to be ok....2000 foot range more features than previous vipers. There is NO screen just two fobs with lights on it, one is a 2 way the other isnt... I havnt had any problems with em except one had a bad shock sensor and the remotes can be somewhat fragile.... Oh yea the led and valet button are built in to the antenna..... if you need any other info lemme know...They added a couple things to make installation easier...

I was told that I needed a bypass module for the remote start? I checked a few places and they average around 80 bucks. Do I need this thing? I also wanted to try and put it in myself but was told it would be alittle difficult but I can get some one to put it in for 50 bucks

Vipers are solid, but installation (compared to other brands) is a nightmare, wire coming out of all sides of the brain, ugh.

You will NEED a bypass to do a starter. Look into getting a PLJX, it's probably the cheapest route.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to let one of my buddies put it in for me. He is a installer at Best Buy. The best out of the 3 we have up there.

Is this bypass any good?
