can someone give me a quick rundown of how this works??? my car is out in the middle of nowhere and just picked this up in sears....how do i go and get my car to start with this???

If this is a portable charger you need to charge the internal battery then you can bring it to jump off your car.

In a nutshell:
1) Set the controls to "50A engine Start" and "Conventional Battery"
2) Attach Red clamp to positive terminal
3) Attach Black clamp to something bare and metal on dead car
4) Plug in charger
5) If all is well, you should have enough juice to start car in a few moments. If not, check connections.
6) Disconnect stuff.

Plug-in chargers are of limited use "in the middle of nowhere". Booster cables and a friend's car would have probably been easier and cheaper.
