ok guys my friend is stuck on the interstate right now cause of an electrical problem in my old sunfire. he said all the warning lamps come on and the cd player completely cuts out, so we replaced his battery and alternator, and tonight he was comin home from work and it died like that again. he checked all connections and grounds. maybe a short?

Short or loose connection somewhere. Check at the starter, check the battery connections.

how long did he drive it before it died on him again? If it wasn't too long it could be the fusable link between the alternator and battery is blown and therefore the alternator isn't actually charging the battery. The car would only run until the battery ran down.
