Ok, so first off I'm still in high school and on a tight budget, My friend is going to sell his Rockford Fosgate 12" P1's to me soon for a good deal. I was also looking at
these, but im guessing theyll be crap compared to Rockford's, but those Hifonics have some pretty well reviews. So the question for that is, should I get the P1's or the Hifonics.
And my second question, for which ever speakers I go with what would be a cheap amp that would power them well. My friend is running is P1's with a 480 watt 2 channel I believe, But im not sure what RMS or anything that he's running. Thanks for the help ahead of time...
First, if I HAD to choose between the two subs I would go with the RF subs they are a known proven sub.
Second, What type of budget are you working with? You are going to need an amp the will do about 150 RMS per channel. I really don't know of any good cheap amps, because I haven't looked. I can tell you this, you get what you pay for. I understand that you are in school and all, but christmas is right around the corner you never know what santa might get you. I guess you could look at wal-mart for a sony amp but that is about it. I would be glad to answer any more questions you might had but you may get more responses if you were in the car audio part of the forum.
My bad about the part of the forum!!
well tight budgets and car audio makes it difficult somewhat...well in my view.
I actually was in the same boat as you, I had a P1 for my first system, thought it was good, then poof. Blew that one to hell.
If you want to go w/ Rockford I'd look into a higher line from them ex. P2-P3.
^^^Agreed. Once you gte that you'll probably want something bigger. Depends what youre going for I guess. Just SQ for music listening it would probably be good but for SPL you arent going to be happy. I got my first system on a budget. 2 Audiobahn 10s and a Pyramid amp and all the wiring for 150. I loved it until I heard my buddies two Audiopipe 12s then I topped that with a 15.
P3s can hit pretty good. One of my friends has one in his turck in a shi**y box made out of plywood and it sounds good. He has a Pioneer Premier. I want to say 750 peak like 300ish rms. I think Premier is pretty good on a budget. Maybe someone else could back this up?
