has anyone had any luck with the dash install kits from walmart or bestbuy? ive always just made id fit with shims and what not but i want it to look right this time, or know of any good ones from other suppliers?
well need to know what car you got but if its 2000+ cavi i say go to bestbuy and get the metra 2003 kit.....
I picked up a scosche one at canadian tire or walmart, don't remember which one for my girlfriends 04. Fit fine and looks good, only problem was the extra pocket was a little bit bent so the clips didnt want to click into the slots for them right but I just used a screwdriver and clipped them in and had no problems with it staying in.
I have the Metra kit in my 97 Cavi and it fit with no issues. Just don't like how far out it sticks, but aftermarket deck and all the wires are not going to fit in that little space without it.

got mine at best buy, fits great
Got mine at Walmart. It sticks out about an inch but besides that its fine.
