Tweeter Issue

Finally got my system installed. 6.5" infinitys with built in tweeter in the front and Alpine type S 3 ways in the back.

When I'm playing my music sometime the tweeters built into the speakers come in too strong and send a high pitched piercing into your ears when the volume isn't very loud, I tried lowering the treble but I seemed to be losing some mid when I did that. I read in the alpine instructions for the 6x9s that if I already had tweeters intalled in the car to disconnect the tweeters that are built into the 6x9s.
Would that be including tweeters built into other speakers, or is it refering to tweeters that are on their own? If it's fine the way I have it, how can I lower tweeter level.

I have the new alpine head unit cda-9886

well your front speakers would be called coaxial. infinity has always had harsh tweeters and lowering the treble usually does take away some of your mids (treble on most headunits is ~5kHz to 20kHz) but about the 6x9s. you would generally not count the front speakers unless you think there is too much treble in your rear fill. but you said its fine as is so i would leave it as is. i believe with the cda models you can adjust treble center frequency and the width of the bell curve it uses whether wider or narrower.....

"I did it because I wanted to see what it would look like. You should be greatful that I even told you that it would look good. If your to dumb to use photoshop and change the color of your own car then you don't need to see it changed. I'm not going to give my work away. I'll sell the pic to you though for $15."-Adam Kalin

I'll see what I can find in the manual. Alpine has made adjusting your cd player settings a real pain in the ass. There selling their decks with the manuals on discs instead of on paper. Only usefull if you have a laptop as far as I'm concerned.
