I've had my mind set on a Sundown SAZ-1000D for awhile and now that I have the money to get it I wanted to ask for opinions on the company and the amp. So let me know. Also can my Type-R take 1000 watts? I know its rated at 750 RMS but I've been told that most quality subs will take over the rated RMS as long as its clean power which I'm hoping the amp puts out. I know how to set gains so I can set it 750 but it just seems like wasted power. Or if anyone has a better suggestion for an amp, throw it out there. Thanks.
im pretty sure the alpine type r is 500rms not 750.....and i wouldnt run 1000 watts rms to it...you could, but if your using a good amp you'll most likely end up blowing the sub. for the sundown audio, i hear there a good company, never got a chance to test there amps but i hear good things. for your setup i would just buy another type r and then a 1000watt amp...rockford makes some solid amps maybe you could try the p1000bd, or the t1000bd....they both do over a 1000watts so it should run nice!!! maybe try the alpine mrp1000, thats just my 2cents
Okie. The 15 Type-R is 750 the 12 is 500. I dont believe there is a t-1000bd. Theres a T-500bd and a T-1500bd. Unless its an older model but I'm done with used audio parts. I cant use Alpine amps cause they only run at 2 ohm and with my VC configuration I can go to 4 and 1 and at 4 I'm getting as much power as I am now. So i guess I forgot to mention that. I cant exactly fit another 15 in my car without walling it.
i think he means t10001bd
ok just so you know, those type r's will take some power.. i have a buddy who is running an audiobahn 2200.. ya i know audiobahn but still 2200watts to a single 12... got a 143 with no tuning on the tl.

^^ The real jbody store!!!!!
sundown ftw.
you can always upgrade the Sub itself if you want more, but that amp will last you ages.
