is the the voltage regulator going bad if the lights pulsate/flicker, or is something else?

it still has the stock radio setup

Could be loose power/ground, could be bad battery, could be a short somewhere, and could be alternator.
Id go to autozone and get my battery tested if it were me. They do it for free.
