crossover and amp setting questions
Tuesday, January 27, 2009 7:34 PM
Ok guys I've got a MTX Thunder 6000 (250W RMS, 500W Peak), I have a Kenwood amp for it (it's 300W RMS, 600W Peak). These are both at 4 ohms. The deck is also Kenwood.

Right now I have crossover on my amp turned on at 80hz and the setting on Stereo not mono. The deck also has a crossover I believe I have it set on 120 hz. Which crossover should i use? and what setting should it be on? Also should be using the High crossover on the deck?

I'm trying tune this all out so any help is appreciated.

If you're running your sub bridged on the amp, i'd set it for mono. Second, your amp would override anything you have on the deck above the frequency. 80 hz is a good number.

yea just match them up. i usually use the 63 hz setting on my head unit but 80 is good as well.

What about for the high crossover on the deck? I have the stock speakers.
