Which is better?

Im going to be hooking up 2 rockford 12" SVC subs with an RMS rating of 150w and peak power of 300w and the amp that came with them can be set up in 3 different ways but none of them match the sub specs perfectly.

1st. option is to bridge the amp at 4 ohms and get 600w peak and 200w RMS
2nd. option is to wire in parallel to 2 ohms and get the same 600w peak and 200w RMS
and lastly i could leave it wired to 4 ohms but only get 300w peak and 100 RMS

so basically what im asking is would it be bad to over power the subs by 50 RMS?

also this the AMP and these are the SUBS

wire one sub per channel.

-wiring it bridged, you'll either have a 2ohm or 8ohm load on the amp, neither is really desirable (since the amp doesn't do 2ohms bridged)
-wiring the subs in parallel (2ohm total load), you'll only be able to use one channel

It wouldn't likely be bad to overpower the subs by 50RMS, BUT putting a load lower than what the amp is rated for is VERY bad for the amp, and probably won't even work without throwing a protection circuit.

Sounds like you have some P1's
Be careful with those things, I had one at one time, had an old rockford 250w on it, and blew the cone right off of it.

ya there p1s and thats probably the safest way to wire them but why would parrallel wiring not work?

Most amps are only stable to 2 ohm in 2 channel mode. So if you were to do that youre amp will heat up really fast and burn up. Ive done it before....

and if it was 2 ohm w/1 channel thatd be bad ok i think i get it now thanks

actually could anybody maybe point me in the direction of a better amp in which i could get more power to push those subs.
i may sell that one and get one that would better suit my needs

12voltsource is your best friend when you need to know what ohm load to wire to.
