Hope someone can help - Just wired up an Aolin Remote start kit in my 2005 Chevrolet Colorado, its a european model fitted with a 3.0 turbo diesel engine. The truck's ignition works as follows - first turn is the accessories to positive, second is the ignition to positive, third is the starter to positive - but when turned to the third point to start, the other two ignition points go back to negative in order for the starter to crank over - then when the engine is started they return back to a positive state. The remote start on the other hand holds the accessories and ignition wires live when giving a feed to the starter wire, therefore not allowing my starter to turn over. Hope this makes sense to someone!!!
You're posting in the wrong forum for the wrong vehicle. Try www.the12volt.com - there's some guys from the UK who would know a lot more about your colorado.
Sounds like you need some sort of relays to convert polarity when the starter wire is powered up.

Managed to sort the problem, there was some sort of cut-off on the ignition so that there was no other drain from the battery when the starter was cranking, obviously the remote start wasn't giving it the option it needed to work as the accessories and ignition both stay positive when giving a pulse to the starter wire. The only remedy I have found is to take the starter wire from the remote start through a relay and directly onto the wire which goes to the solenoid to work the starter motor - therefore bypassing the need for the ignition to be off to allow the remote start to do its job. Not an ideal solution but it works everytime which is all I wanted it to do. Thanks for your help guys but yes your right, I cannot get onto directechs!! Regards, Tom
